Germany's Daimler AG, the world's biggest truck maker, said that it will provide engines to specialty truck maker Osh- kosh Corp. for use in that com- pany's fire and emergency response vehicles.
Separately, Daimler announced that it will form a $929 million venture with China's Beiqi Foton Motor Co. to make trucks and engines.
Under the deal with Oshkosh, Daimler Trucks North America will provide the Oshkosh, Wis.based company with Detroit Diesel Corp.'s DD13 engines for use in Pierce Manufacturingbranded fire and rescue vehicles, the companies said in in a statement.
