Article: MINNESOTA POLLUTION CONTROL AGENCY ENFORCEMENT ACTIONS TOTAL MORE THAN $300,000 IN FOURTH QUARTER OF 2008; OVER $1.6-MILLION FOR ALL OF 2008

The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency issued the following news release:

The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) concluded 50 enforcement cases totaling $303,372 in penalties during the fourth quarter of 2008. The cases occurred at facilities in 26 counties throughout Minnesota. In all of 2008, 176 cases were concluded totaling $1,643,866 in penalties.

The following is a brief summary of all 50 cases completed during the fourth quarter of 2008:

- $23,940 - Northland Constructors of Duluth LLC, Duluth, for stormwater violations.

- $21,000 - Tuohy Furniture Corp., Chatfield, for air quality violations.

- $14,000 - Liberty Paper Inc., Becker, for air quality violations.
