ALEXANDRIA, Va., Jan. 27 -- The following federal patents were awarded to inventors in Michigan.

MICHIGAN INVENTORS DEVELOP ORNAMENTAL DESIGN FOR VEHICLE HOOD
ALEXANDRIA, Va., Jan. 27 -- Three inventors from Michigan have developed an ornamental design for a vehicle hood, the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office announced. The inventors are George Saridakis and William Mangan, both of Ann Arbor, Mich., and Douglas Gaffka of Northville, Mich. The inventors were issued U.S. Patent No. D583,731 on Dec. 30, 2008.
The patent has been assigned to Ford Motor Co., Dearborn. The original application was filed on April 19, 2007.
