The New York State Attorney General issued the following news release:
Attorney General Andrew M. Cuomo today announced that his office has secured $275,000 from LA Weight Loss Centers, Inc. in order to provide refunds to thousands of customers across the state who paid for but never received services after the now defunct company closed its doors in January 2008.
Statewide thus far, the Attorney General's Office has identified more than 100 consumers who were affected by the closures and will receive restitution as part of the agreement.
