Article: Department of Chemistry to Host Dedication for New FT-NMR Machine

Millikin University issued the following news release:

The Millikin University Department of Chemistry will be hosting a dedication for their upgraded Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (FT-NMR) machine on Thursday, February 19, 2-3:30 p.m., in Leighty-Tabor Science Center, Room 410. FT-NMR operates on the same principle as MRI, or magnetic resonance imaging, performed at a hospital. The technique takes advantage of the response of certain atoms, most notably hydrogen and carbon, to magnetic fields.
