Article: Sen. Brownback Introduces Guantanamo Bay Detention Facility Safe Closure Act

WASHINGTON, Feb. 10 -- Sen. Sam Brownback, R-Kansas, has introduced the Guantanamo Bay Detention Facility Safe Closure Act of 2009 (S. 291), legislation that would "provide for certain requirements related to the closing of the Guantanamo Bay detention facility."

The bill, introduced on Jan. 21, was co-sponsored by Sens. Pat Roberts, R-Kansas, and Kit Bond, R-Missouri. It was referred to the Senate Armed Services Committee.
