Article: Rep. Watson Introduces Public Diplomacy Resource Centers Act

WASHINGTON, Feb. 18 -- Rep. Diane E. Watson, D-California, has introduced the Public Diplomacy Resource Centers Act of 2009 (H.R. 909), legislation that would "amend the State Department Basic Authorities Act of 1956 to provide for the establishment and maintenance of existing libraries and resource centers at U.S. diplomatic and consular missions to provide information about U.S. culture, society, and history."

The bill, introduced on Feb. 4, has 21 co-sponsors. It was referred to the House Foreign Affairs Committee.
