VIRGINIA BEACH, Va., Feb. 18 -- The city of Virginia Beach issued the following press release:

The Virginia Beach City Council has chosen Mark D. Stiles to be the new city attorney. He will take office March 1.

Stiles has 20 years of legal experience, including the past 10 years with the City of Virginia Beach. He is currently one of five deputy city attorneys, supervising the department's litigation section.

Stiles, 44, holds a bachelor's degree from West Virginia University and a law degree from Washington & Lee University. He spent 10 years in private practice with the law firm of Willcox & Savage, primarily in business and commercial litigation. He joined the city attorney's ...
