Hotel plays constitute a genre all their own, and hotel bedroom farces, a substantial subgenre. But despite playwright Gary Slezak's attempts to disguise his romantic comedy as one of the latter - replete with marital triangles, scantily clad babes, irrepressible zanies, urbane servants, eccentric offstage personalities, slamming doors, chases around sofas and peeking from behind portières - its premise still emerges as more Pierre Marivaux than Alan Ayckbourn.
