McMaster's recent Precious Heritage auction held July 26, 1997, at the Pritchard Laughlin Civic Center, in Cambridge, Ohio, offered outstanding examples of dolls, toys, bears, and other ephemera from America's past.
Always collectors' favorites, the French dolls continued to bring high prices, with a 20-inch openmouth Le Parisien by Jules Steiner selling for a strong $3,500.
