Article: ANDERSON TO RETIRE FROM AIR FORCE; ELECTED TO CIVIL AIR PATROL'S GOVERNING BODY

MAXWELL AIR FORCE BASE, Ala., Jan. 14 -- The U.S. Air Force Auxiliary Civil Air Patrol issued the following press release:

Air Force Col. and Civil Air Patrol Brig. Gen. Richard L. Anderson of Woodbridge, Va., will retire from the Air Force on Feb. 1 and will serve on the Civil Air Patrol's Board of Governors, the Air Force auxiliary's governing body, effective Jan. 28.

Anderson was elected to the board by the Civil Air Patrol's National Executive Committee in November. The Board of Governors is a congressionally created body that was signed into law in 2000 in order to provide the secretary of the Air Force with oversight authority for the corporate activities of CAP.
