Article: Rep. Kagen Introduces No Discrimination in Health Insurance Act

WASHINGTON, Feb. 25 -- Rep. Steve Kagen, D-Wisconsin, has introduced the No Discrimination in Health Insurance Act of 2009 (H.R. 1092), legislation that would "amend the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974, Public Health Service Act, and the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to prohibit discrimination in group health coverage and individual health insurance coverage."

The bill was introduced on Feb. 13. It was referred to the House Energy and Commerce Committee; House Education and Labor Committee; and House Ways and Means Committee.
