At a time when the region's manufacturing sector is slowing, Vacon Inc., announced it will relocate to a larger plant in Chambersburg.
The United States subsidiary of Vacon, pic, a Finnish manufacturer of AC drives, is moving from leased space on Black Gap Road in Scotland, north of Chambersburg, to the Chambers-5 Business Park.
Dan Isaksson, president of Vacon, Inc., said for competitive reasons, he did not want to reveal the square footage of the plant. "It's much bigger than what we have now. will be more flexible, and will enhance our productivity," he said.
