COLUMBIA, S.C., Feb. 18 -- The South Carolina Department of Education issued the following news release:

Six organizations and individuals are being recognized by the South Carolina School Boards Association for their support of students and staff members in school district across the state.

The association presents its Champions for Public Education Awards quarterly to honor community residents, organizations or local businesses/industries whose support of and contributions to public education have significantly benefited the entire school district or public schools statewide.
