ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 4 -- Gary Matroni of Agawam, Mass., Thomas J. Kennedy III of Wilbraham, Mass., Michael J. Tzivanis of Chicopee, Mass., Mark L. Binette of Ludlow, Mass., and David M. Melanson of Fedding Hills, Mass., have developed a golf ball component. The inventors were issued U.S. Patent No. 7,473,193 on Jan.6.

The patent has been assigned to Callaway Golf Co., Carlsbad, Calif.
