ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 7 -- Oliver Nicklass of Kronau, Germany, has developed a step-by-step variable transmission for motor vehicles. The inventor was issued U.S. Patent No. 7,472,617 on Jan. 6.
The patent has been assigned to Getrag Getriebe- und Zahnradfabrik Hermann Hagenmeyer GmbH & Cie KG, Untergruppenbach, Germany.
