Article: BROWARD COUNTY WRAPS UP RABIES VACCINE PROGRAM FOR RACCOONS

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., March 6 -- Broward County has issued the following news release:

As part of Broward County's Oral Rabies Vaccine program (ORV), representatives from the Broward County Animal Care and Regulation and Parks and Recreation divisions will continue to distribute baits filled with an oral rabies vaccine beginning the week of March 9, 2009.

This month's distribution will complete the County's five-year effort, initiated by Broward County Commissioners in 2004, to vaccinate raccoons against rabies.
