Colombo, March 10 -- Sagara Kariyawasam has been appointed as the Chairman of the Cooperative Wholesale Establishment (CWE) with effect from February 20 2009, by Minister of Trade, Marketing Development, Co-operative and Consumer Services, Bandula Gunawardena.

Mr. Kariyawasam, Attorney-at-Law admitted to the Bar in 1993, was attached to the Attorney General's Department for around seven years and counts over 8 years active practice in the civil courts.
