Colombo, Dec. 7 -- The language the Buddha preached the Dhamma was in Pali, which was originated from `Shuddha Magadhi Bhasha' (the language used in Magadha, the most powerful province in India during the Buddha's time). People found it convenient to understand His preaching since it was the language used by a vast division of the common people in Dambadiva (India).
