The American Jewish Committee issued the following news release:

AJC President Richard J. Sideman presented King Hamad bin Isa al-Khalifa of Bahrain the global advocacy organization's Leadership for Peace Award at Al Safriya Palace in Manama yesterday.

Sideman led a six-member AJC leadership delegation in a private meeting with King Hamad that focused on regional security and political issues, Bahraini-U.S. ties, and interfaith understanding. The group also met with Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, key members of the Shura Council, business leaders, representatives of Bahraini civil society and the nation's small Jewish community.
