CITRUS HEIGHTS, Calif., March 16 -- The Citrus Heights Police Department issued the following news release:
The Citrus Heights Police Department will be conducting a DUI Checkpoint THIS FRIDAY, March 20, 2009, between the hours of 8:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. at the intersection of Sunrise Blvd. and Oak Avenue.
DUI / Drivers License Checkpoints involve vehicles being stopped randomly as they drive through a specific location. Drivers are briefly contacted to determine if they are impaired; and/or licensed. Unlicensed drivers may have their vehicle towed. Those drivers found to be under the influence are arrested. The goal is to improve traffic safety by removing impaired and unsafe drivers from ...
