SILVER CITY, N.M., Oct. 9 -- Western New Mexico University issued the following news release:
The Western New Mexico men's tennis program has been shining recently and is working towards being in the national contender this season. Part of this recent success is because of Albuquerque-area student-athletes.
Sophomore Luke Salazar is a former Valley High School standout who made a New Mexico State team finals appearance in 2006. Salazar was a First Team All-RMAC in singles selection and a First Team All-RMAC in doubles selection last season. Salazar currently holds a 3.8 GPA and will graduate in May 2009 with a degree in computer science.
