PEMBROKE, N.C., March 18 -- The University of North Carolina-Pembroke issued the following press release:
Mardella Sunshine Costanzo was crowned Miss Indian North Carolina 2009-10 on March 6, at the 34th Annual North Carolina Indian Unity Conference held in Raleigh.
Mardella Sunshine CostanzoCostanzo, a junior at UNC Pembroke majoring in American Indian Studies, is a member of the Lumbee Tribe. In her role as Miss Indian North Carolina, she will represent the 100,000 Native American people of the state.
