BROOKINGS, S.D., March 22 -- South Dakota State University issued the following news release:
Talk about an auspicious debut.
South Dakota State tied an NCAA Tournament record with 16 three-pointers, matching its own school record in the process, as the Jackrabbits rolled in their inaugural D-I tournament game with a 90-55 victory over Texas Christian Sunday night.
The Jackrabbits, who tied a school record with their 32nd victory of the season, advance to play second-seeded Baylor (Texas), an 87-82 overtime victory over Texas-San Antonio in Sunday's late game. SDSU upped its record to 32-2, while TCU ended its season at 20-11. Tipoff of Tuesday's second-round game is slated for 8:30 p.m. ...
