LAS CRUCES, N.M., Oct. 13 -- New Mexico State University issued the following news release:

The New Mexico State men's and women's basketball teams are starting the 2008-09 season with a Crimson and White scrimmage, Friday, Oct. 17 at 7:00 p.m. in the Pan American Center. The event is free and open to the public.

Friday is the first official day of practice for the year and in addition to both teams playing an intraquad exhibition game, a pair of 3-point contests is on the schedule. A four-team shootout has a clash of Aggie students, NMSU coaches along with both Aggie women's and men's players. The other 3-point challenge gives a NMSU Greek community member the opportunity to win a tuition ...
