MIAMI, Fla., July 2 -- Florida International University, a component of the state university system, issued the following news release:
A group of community leaders who did not graduate from FIU but have supported the university was inducted into the FIU Alumni Association as Honorary Alumni on June 30.
The luncheon held at the Ronald W. Reagan Presidential House was attended by seven of the 10 state and local leaders who have made significant contributions to FIU and their community.
Among those who received the recognition of the Honorary Alumni Certificate at the inaugural ceremony of the new blue-and-gold tradition were Jeffrey Atwater, the president of the Florida Senate; John Dasburg, ...
