POMONA, Calif., Jan. 10 -- California State Polytechnical University at Pomona issued the following press release:
Cal Poly Pomona was held scoreless for more than a 5- minute span Saturday and couldn't recover in a 62-58 loss to CCAA leading UC San Diego in women's basketball play before a crowd of 392 at Kellogg Gym.
The loss was CPP's second straight and second against a fellow CCAA leader. The Broncos are now 8-7 overall and 4-2 in the CCAA, while UC San Diego improved to 13-2, 6-0.
Cal Poly Pomona led by as many as nine in the second half and went ahead 46-38 on Stephisha Walton's free throw with 8:55 remaining.
