Article: STATE PARKS COMMISSION TRANSFERS WENBERG STATE PARK TO SNOHOMISH COUNTY PARKS

OLYMPIA, Wash., July 1 -- The Washington state Parks and Recreation Commission issued the following news release:

The Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission will turn Wenberg State Park over to Snohomish County Parks operations beginning July 16, in an effort to keep parks open and available to citizens while responding to state budget reductions.

The transfer of the park will be marked by a ceremony at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 16, the first day of county operations, at the park 10 miles south of Stanwood. State Parks and Snohomish County officials will be on hand for the event, and the public is invited to attend.
