TURLOCK, C.A., April 5 -- California State University Dominguez Hills issued the following press release:
Cal State Dominguez Hills fell 5-3 in the Tournament of Champions title game to Hawaii Pacific, suffering its first loss of the tournament. Senior Regina Farfan was named Tournament MVP for her efforts after leading the Toros to a 7-1 record over the weekend.
Farfan, who started her eighth game against the Sea Warriors, was up to the task early, keeping HPU off the board through three innings of work. The Chino native, however, ran into trouble in the fourth, allowing three hits including a 2RBI baseknock that opened the scoring to give HPU a 2-0 lead.
