Article: STATE EDUCATION OFFICIALS TO HONOR 130 MISSOURI SCHOOLS FOR SUCCESSFUL ADOPTION OF 'POSITIVE BEHAVIOR SUPPORT'

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo., June 2 -- The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education issued the following news release:

One hundred thirty-three Missouri schools will be honored this weekend (June 7) by state education officials for their successful adoption of "positive behavior support," a comprehensive approach to improving students' behavior and academic performance.

The 133 schools will receive gold, silver and bronze awards during the fourth annual Schoolwide Positive Behavior Support Summer Institute, sponsored by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and the University of Missouri Center for Schoolwide Positive Behavior Support.
