TURLOCK, Calif., Jan. 28 -- California State University Stanislaus issued the following press release:

The Cal State Stanislaus Warriors, the defending CCAA tournament champion, debut at No. 14 in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) preseason poll released today.

Defending national champion Humboldt State received 10 first-place votes and is ranked No. 2.

Lock Haven, which totaled six first-place votes, earned the top spot in the poll and is coming off a 49-8 record in 2008.

Humboldt State concluded the 2008 campaign with a 57-18 overall record that included a 24-8 mark in CCAA play. The Lumberjacks, who defeated Emporia State, 1-0, for their second national title, concluded ...
