People with learning disabilities face many barriers in getting sexual health advice and support, not least a reluctance to view them as sexual beings
The sexual health of people with learning disabilities can still be a taboo area, despite strategies to support them in developing and sustaining relationships, including sexual relationships.
Community practitioners are key to providing sexual health advice to this vulnerable group, but there appears to be a number of barriers that make it difficult for them to address the sexual health needs of people with learning disabilities.
