Article: WBB ADVANCES TO FIRST-EVER NCAA TOURNAMENT

CLEVELAND, March 15 -- Ball State University issued the following news release:

Ball State's women's basketball, under the direction of first-year head coach Kelly Packard, defeated Bowling Green in the championship game of the Mid-American Conference Tournament to earn the league's automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in school history.

Porchia Green scored on two driving layups in the final 26 seconds to lift Ball State to its first MAC title and the school's first trip to the NCAA tournament with a 55-51 victory over MAC power and top-seeded Bowling Green Sunday.
