* Iowa Superintendent of Banking Thomas B. Gronstal was elected chairman-elect of the Conference of State Bank Supervisors for 2009-2010. As chairman-elect, he will automatically assume the chairmanship in May 2010. Gronstal has served as Iowa Superintendent of Banking since February 2002. Born in Carroll, Iowa, he graduated from Kuemper High School, Carroll, Iowa in 1969. He went to Benedictine College in Atchison, Kan., and graduated in 1973. Gronstal began his banking career in 1973 with Central National Bank in Des Moines. In 1975, he joined the Iowa Division of Banking and continued working there until 1978, when he joined the Carroll County State Bank in Carroll, Iowa. On February 4, ...
