Pennsylvania Department of Envi- ronmental Protection recently an- nounced six recipients of the 2009 an- nual Composting Infrastructure Development Grants. Nearly $400,000 was awarded to for profit and nonprofit organizations, includ- ing farms and colleges. The program reimburses recipients up to $100,000 for the purchase of machinery or equipment costs associated with in- creasing the use of organic materials processed at composting facilities in the state.
