Mike Liszka doesn't fool around with sharp objects. On the contrary, he helped the aerospace and defense company ATK in Beltsville design tools that astronauts used in space to ensure that all sharp edges were kept away from space suits, so as to not cause any possible fatalities.
Liszka was part of a group that was responsible for designing the Mini Power Tool, which made its premier in the fifth service mission to the Hubble Space Telescope last month.
"These tools ensured that all debris was captured, all sharp edges were kept away from the space suits, and all required forces were kept at a manageable level," Liszka said.
