Article: Billings-based Sutton's Sportswear expecting to close

After nearly three decades in business, Sutton's Sportswear President Mark Heydon told employees Wednesday that the Billings company will likely stop operating by June 30.

"National economic events compel the closure," Heydon said.

Sutton's Sportswear, 1400 S. 24th St. W., customizes shirts, hats and other apparel for resorts, corporations and sports teams.

Heydon left some hope for the workers that if negotiations with one of several potential buyers are successful, another company may buy Sutton's equipment and set up a branch in Billings.
