ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 24 -- Ichiro Kakihara and Hiroshi Hachiya, both of Kurashiki, Japan, have developed a method for stably producing an aromatic polycarbonate. The inventors were issued U.S. Patent No. 7,563,858 on July 21.
The patent has been assigned to Asahi Kasei Chemicals Corp., Tokyo.
According to the abstract released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A method for stably producing an aromatic polycarbonate, which comprises continuously reacting an aromatic dihydroxy compound with a diaryl carbonate in a closed, reactor-pipeline system, the closed, reactor-pipeline system comprising: a plurality of reactors which are liquid-tightly connected through a pipeline toward an ...
