Article: CIVIL AFFAIRS SOLDIERS SHARPEN SKILLS IN CULMINATION EXERCISE

FORT A.P. Hill, Va., July 28 -- The U.S. Army Special Operations Command issued the following news release:

More than 120 Civil Affairs Soldiers from the 96th Civil Affairs Battalion (Airborne) recently spent eight days at Fort A.P. Hill, Va., participating in a battalion-level culmination exercise.

The field training exercise is designed to provide real-world scenarios for the Soldiers, who are trained in the intricacies of foreign cultures and customs. Civil Affairs Soldiers, who specialize in nation building and civilian-military relations, possess skills that have catapulted them to the forefront of the Global War on Terrorism.
