ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 29 -- Craig French, Suring, Wis., has developed a cable transport system and method for loading and unloading spools. The inventor was issued U.S. Patent No. 7,566,196 on July 28.
The patent has been assigned to Great Lakes Manufacturing Inc., Suring.
According to the abstract released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A trailer and a system for picking up and centering spools and a method for stabilizing the trailer when not attached to a towing vehicle. The device to pick up and hold the spools of cable utilizes the mechanical advantages that are gained through the use of a fulcrum and a lever.
