Article: FIRE UPDATE, METHOW VALLEY RANGER DISTRICT

WINTHROP, Wash., July 30 -- The U.S. Department of Agriculture's U.S. Forest Service unit - Okanogan National Forest - issued the following press release:

Today, Methow Valley Ranger District enlisted help for 16 fires on the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest. Management of fires east of the Methow River was delegated to a Type 3 incident management team led by John Barnes, Incident Commander. The team was also given responsibility for initial attack of new fires in that area.
