Article: Sam Bowling elected chairman of the West Virginia Chamber

CHARLESTON - Kanawha Valley businessman Samuel M. Bowling will now be at the forefront of business issues in the Mountain State, leading the West Virginia Chamber of Commerce as its newly elected chairman.

His oneyear appointment, which was announced at the West Virginia Business Summit in late August, was a unanimous decision by the chamber to succeed outgoing Chairman Nick Carter, president of Western Pocahontas Properties.

"Nick did an impeccable job of increasing the numbers of membership into the chamber and had a really great run as chairman," Bowling said. "I just hope to capitalize on his successes and make some additional successes."
