A highly respected labor arbitrator describes how Cambodia's efforts to develop a labor arbitration program with the assistance of the International Labour Organization has become a model for developing countries to follow.
Americans tend to assume that labor-management arbitration is used worldwide for resolving workplace disputes because it has the following advantages: it is cheaper and faster than conventional litigation, avoids tiresome, costly and time-consuming legal appeals and permits the disputants to select their mutual choice of expert arbitrator.
