ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 8 -- Hans-Ake Bengtsson of Bjarnum, Sweden, and Lars-Henrik Nyman of Hassleholm, Sweden, have developed a process for producing monopentaerythritol of high purity. The inventors were issued U.S. Patent No. 7,569,736 on Aug. 4.

The patent has been assigned to Perstorp Specialty Chemicals AB, Perstorp, Sweden.

According to the abstract released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The invention relates to a process for producing monopentaerythritol of high purity and monopentaerythritol produced by the process.
