ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 10 -- Clas Gerhard Sivertsen, Lilburn, Ga., has developed an apparatus for removably mounting hard disk drives. The inventor was issued U.S. Patent No. 7,570,484 on Aug. 4.

The patent has been assigned to American Megatrends Inc., Norcross, Ga.

According to the abstract released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A system and apparatus are described for removably mounting one or more hard disk drives within a computer system. According to one embodiment, the system includes a disk drive carrier cage configured to receive a disk drive backplane and up to eight pair of disk drive carrier rails.
