The theme of the PMI U.S. Government Forum in Washington, DQ USA, was "achieving transparency, accountability and efficiency through project management." PMI Chair Ricardo Vargas, MSc, PMP, opened the forum by welcoming 109 participants, attending from 30 government agencies. PMI President and CEO Gregory Balestrero then spoke about some of the project management success stories in the private sector, and stressed the importance of "getting it right."
"Excellence in project management is not a differentiator it is an expectation," he said. "Project, program and portfolio management should be the focus of government."
