Colombo, Aug. 10 -- The 40th death anniversary of well-known English political theorist, author, publisher and civil servant Leonard Woolf falls on Friday August 14.
Dr. Lester James Peries' celebrated Sinhala movie 'Beddegama' was based on Leonard Woolf's 1913 book titled 'The Village in the Jungle' that followed the lives of village people in British Colonial Sri Lanka. Leonard Sydney Wolf was born on November 25, 1880 in London. When his father died in 1892, Woolf was sent to board at the Arlington House School near Brighton.
