Article: UNIVERSITY OF CENTRAL OKLAHOMA FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES NEARLY $1 MILLION RECEIVED FOR ACADEMY OF CONTEMPORARY MUSIC LAUNCH

EDMOND, Okla., Aug. 4 -- The University of Central Oklahoma issued the following news release:

The University of Central Oklahoma Foundation announced they have received nearly $1 million to assist in funding the start-up of the new Academy of Contemporary Music at UCO (ACM@UCO), set to welcome its first class of students Aug. 17. Gifts will be used to help fund essential costs including facilities and equipment. The gifts include a $50,000 donation from Love's Travel Stops & Country Stores and a $30,000 grant from the Kirkpatrick Foundation, Inc. Also, a portion of the start-up funds, $750,000, was designated from a $3 million unrestricted gift in 2006 from Troy and Dollie Smith.
