MONTGOMERY, Ala., Aug. 6 -- The Alabama Department of Economic and Community Affairs issued the following news release:
Gov. Bob Riley has awarded a $460,000 grant to help bring 100 new jobs to Marengo County.
CTCO Shipyard of Alabama plans to open a manufacturing and servicing center in an existing building on an 88-acre site in the Demopolis Airport Industrial Park. The company will build and service tow and tug boats and barges.
The Community Development Block Grant will be used to renovate a 1.5-mile railroad spur connecting the plant to the main line of Norfolk Southern Railroad.
