Walter Cronkite, America's news reporter, died on July 17, at the age of 92. His apparent cause of death was cerebral vascular disease. Who would ever have predicted that Cronkite would have outlived Michael Jackson? Last night when I came in, I flipped on CNN and it was wall to wall Walter Cronkite, As I sat and watched, I thought about several things.

How many people under the age of 40 even knew who Walter Cronkite was? If someone is 40 years old today, then they were about 10 years old in 1981 when Cronkite retired from the CBS Evening News. Cronkite was known as "the most trusted man in America." He appeared on the "CBS Evening News" for two decades, until 1981. ...
